Twelve-year-old Headley plays a young \u2018T-Rex\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Amazon MGM movie was successfully screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7 and premi\u00e8red in the US on December 4 at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. \u201cThe screening created an immediate buzz here in Toronto, and an Oscar nomination for the movie is already being talked about by industry insiders,\u201d Headley\u2019s mother, Deborah Myers said.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Fire Inside<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was directed by cinematographer Rachel Morrison, known for her work on films\u00a0<strong><em>Black Panther<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><em>Fruitvale Station<\/em><\/strong>. It was written and produced by Oscar-winning Barry Jenkins (<em>Moonlight<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><em>If Beale Street Could Talk<\/em><\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>An excited Headley, who was born in Canada to Jamaican parents, expressed gratitude to persons such as Rachel Morrison, Brian Henry, and Claressa Shields, \u201cthe GOAT\u201d.\u00a0 \u201cYou have set the bar high for female boxers. It was an honour to play the young Claressa Shields,\u201d Headley added.<\/p>\n<p>She also shouted out her parents \u201cfor being my biggest supporters\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Headley\u2019s acting credits include an appearance in the London Palladium production\u00a0<strong><em>Joseph &amp; The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>that had its Toronto 2022 season run at the Princess of Wales Theatre. She is also a former cast member of the CBC Kids TV series\u00a0<strong><em>Ukulele U<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The youngster recently established a \u2018Jazmin Headley Corner\u2019 at the KPH\/Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston and the Black River Hospital in St Elizabeth.
