Titled <strong><em>\u2018Can\u2019t Take my Space\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, it has 14 songs including the title track which was released three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The new album contains songs from several producers including Molando \u201cDJ Virus\u201d Dale of Ochi City Records, and Jason \u201cJahson\u201d Bromfield of Orlando-based Open Doors Records. It is the 68-year-old Blender\u2019s first studio collection since \u2018Higher Heights\u2019 which came out in 2011. Like that set, <strong><em>\u2018Can\u2019t Take my Space\u2019<\/em><\/strong> bears the imprint of his company, Blend Dem Music.<\/p>\n<p>Based in South Florida, Blender is known for anthems such as <strong><em>\u2018Lift up Your Head\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>\u2018Create A Sound\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018Ghetto People Song\u2019<\/em><\/strong> which were released in the 1990s. The latter was sampled two years ago by rapper French Montano and Harry Fraud for their song, <strong><em>\u2018Higher\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Blender is from Clarendon parish in rural Jamaica. He was part of the roots-reggae revival in the 1990s along with Garnet Silk, Tony Rebel, Kulcha Knox and Yasus Afari.<\/p>\n<p>He reeled off a succession of radio-friendly songs produced by Richard Bell including <strong><em>\u2018Lift up Your Head\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018Piece A di Blender\u2019<\/em><\/strong> which endeared him to fans in Jamaica, the United States and Europe.
