For his new album, the veteran singer does the same on Treasure Isle beats.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Feeling Irie\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, is the title of the set, which is produced by Willie Lindo, who also produced <strong><em>\u2018I\u2019m Living Well\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, Washington\u2019s 2020 album. It is scheduled for release in July.<\/p>\n<p>Washington said it was his idea to record on rhythms from Treasure Isle, which had an intense rivalry with Studio One during the ska\/rock steady eras of the 1960s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe introduce it to Willie, an\u2019 him sey, \u2018dat\u2019s a great idea!\u2019. Him jus\u2019 clap some riddim give me and everything come out beautifully,\u201d Washington gushed.<\/p>\n<p>The title song, <strong><em>\u2018They Will Soon Have to Pay\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>\u2018Wherever You Go\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018Home Again\u2019<\/em><\/strong> are some of the songs on the album which will be distributed by LTK20 Recordz, a South Florida-based company.<\/p>\n<p>Washington said it was a similar process that resulted in <strong><em>\u2018Brother to Brother\u2019<\/em><\/strong> which gave him the breakthrough after over 20 years in the music business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen mi meet Mister (Clement) Dodd, mi ask him for some riddim an\u2019 him sey, \u2018a wey yuh know dem riddim ya from?\u2019 But mi grow up on dem riddim as youth an\u2019 hear dem play on soun\u2019 (systems),\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Brother to Brother\u2019<\/em><\/strong> was produced by Dodd, founder of the legendary label. It has hit singles like <strong><em>\u2018Prisoner of Love\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and \u2018<strong><em>Love Knows no Shame\u2019<\/em><\/strong> which opened the door for Washington\u2019s career as a vocalist.
