Having a number one song ahead of her first album is a big deal for Novel-T, a Jamaican who lives in South Florida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt certainly is an extra level of motivation for me to know that what I do resonates with music industry professionals, deejays and the listening audience. It helps to keep me charged-up each time a song of mine gets that level of recognition, and I would not be human if it didn\u2019t boost my confidence and encourage me to keep going,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Six artists recorded songs on the uptempo Favorite beat including Lindo, Sanchez, Peter G, Anthony Malvo and INique.\u00a0 Novel-T\u2019s album will include six songs that topped the South Florida Reggae Chart. Her previous chart-topper was I Don\u2019t Know Much, a cover of the popular, Grammy-winning ballad, which she sang with Lindo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy approach to every project is, I consider how I feel about the idea of the song initially. I spend time to develop a relationship with the song, i.e. the lyrics, melody, meaning etc., to see how it fits the nuances of my voice, and how I will treat each section of the song,\u201d she explained. \u201cI do this even if I wrote the song, as with I Love the Way. I\u2019m generally not satisfied with any piece of work I\u2019m doing until I get to that point where I literally fall in love with it.
