Reggae artiste I-Maric has been living in England for over two decades but his love for the place where he was born and raised has never waned.<\/p>\n
The London-based deejay who grew up in the rough inner-city community of Payneland in Kingston is currently promoting his debut EP which is aptly titled \u2018Welcome to Kingston.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI drew inspiration from all the happy memories I have of having grown up in Payneland with my mother. It wasn\u2019t all roses but there were some wonderful times despite the struggles. Jamaica has its fair share of problems, especially with the crime but it is still one of the most beautiful and vibrant places in the world. No matter what I will always love Kingston,\u201d said the artiste.<\/p>\n Ras I-Maric is the executive producer of the six-track EP which features songs such as \u2018Dear Lord,\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2018Crying for Peace,\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2018Tired and Fed Up\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>and the title track \u2018Welcome to Kingston.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI am the executive producer of this project and, I also produced four of the songs on it. Kendoyll Simpson from Belize produced the other two, he also mixed and mastered the entire project,\u201d said I-Maric.<\/p>\n \u2018Welcome to Kingston\u2019<\/em><\/strong> was released on the Poor People Productions imprint last year and is available on all digital platforms including iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon.<\/p>\n Ras I-Maric given name Phillip Dunkley launched his recording career in 2007 with the release of a single titled, \u2018Oh Mama.\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0Some of his other songs are \u2018Who Feels It Now,\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2018Mi Nuh Like Weh A Gwaan\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>and \u2018What Is Wrong Humanity.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Reggae artiste I-Maric has been living in England for over two decades but his love for the place where he was born and raised has never waned.
