US-based Jamaican-born saxophonist and producer Geoff Rhone is determined to make his mark on the international music scene.<\/p>\n

\"\"He recently teamed up with a cadre of highly accomplished international musicians which includes Emil Kamal from Malang City, Indonesia,\u00a0Cuban American\u00a0Claudia Vega and Tya P from Bali, Indonesia to record an instrumental version of Gregory Isaac\u2019s timeless reggae classic, \u2018Rumours\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGregory Isaacs was undoubtedly one of the greatest reggae singers and Rumours is just an awesome song.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a personal favourite of mine and I figured that an instrumental version of this song would be\u00a0greatly appreciated\u00a0by reggae fans all over the world. When I suggested the idea to the team everyone was\u00a0very excited\u00a0about it. So, we recorded it,\u201d said the Manchester-born musician.<\/p>\n

\"\"Rhone describes the project as a Jamaican, Indonesian reggae fusion.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThis is a fusion of reggae and dancehall with Indonesian sounds. It\u00a0was recorded in Tokyo,\u00a0Bali\u00a0and Jakarta.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a totally\u00a0different style\u00a0of music which incorporates various instruments including the saxophone,\u00a0the\u00a0violin\u00a0and the\u00a0gamelan. We have introduced a new sound to the global music marketplace with this version of Rumours,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Produced by Rhone the instrumental version of \u2018Rumours\u2019<\/em><\/strong> which features Emil Kamal on flute and saxophone,\u00a0Claudia Vega\u00a0on\u00a0violin\u00a0and Tya P\u00a0on\u00a0the gamelan\u00a0was released on October 1 last year.<\/p>\n

\"\"A spoken word (alternate) version of the project which features the vocals of Geoff Rhone and Tya P was also released on the same date.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cSince the project was released,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0been receiving a lot of feedback about\u00a0it. The people love\u00a0both versions\u00a0and I am sure that if Gregory Isaacs\u00a0was\u00a0here in the flesh, he would love them too.\u201d<\/p>\n
