Released in December, \u2018Fish Out of Water\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is the Toronto-based deejay\u2019s first song with his new moniker. It is the follow-up to \u2018Moma mi Find the Right Person\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, which he also co-produced with Dilla Oneil.<\/p>\n \u2018Fish Out of Water\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is about a man in despair after his lover leaves him.\u00a0 \u201cIs a true story, about one of my friends an\u2019 wi jus\u2019 decide to do a song about it \u2018cause many men can relate to dat situation,\u201d said P\u2019damore, who settled in Canada six years ago, after \u201cgoing an\u2019 coming\u201d for several years from Jamaica.<\/p>\n He returned to music after a 15-year break. According to P\u2019damore, he turned his back on the business for \u201cpersonal reasons\u201d but kept current through regular visits to recording studios.<\/p>\n From rural Trelawny parish in western Jamaica, P\u2019damore launched his career in his late teens. His first single was \u2018False Money Gal\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, produced by singer Phillip Fraser, a stalwart of the roots-reggae dancehall scene in Kingston.<\/p>\n P\u2019damore finds the laid-back Toronto reggae scene to his liking and plans to increase his recording output in 2024.
