Fast-rising dancehall\/reggae artiste Crazy Nacka believes that it is possible for reggae and dancehall music to become even more prominent on the world stage if Jamaican artistes go back to creating authentic dancehall and reggae music.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only way our music can get bigger internationally is if we go back to our roots and start making the kind of music that made reggae and dancehall popular. Everywhere that I\u2019ve travelled the people are still listening to our musical icons. I\u2019m talking about Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Shaggy and so many others. People all over the world are still in tune with original dancehall and reggae music. Trap dancehall is only popular in Jamaica,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Negril-based deejay recently returned to the island after doing a series of promotional appearances in Mexico and Panama.\u00a0 \u201cIt was a wonderful experience performing in Panama and Mexico. I did a series of shows in Panama City and Mexico City. The people in both countries have a great appreciation for authentic reggae and dancehall music and Rastafarian culture. Everywhere I performed, they showed me a lot of love,\u201d said Crazy Nacka.<\/p>\n
He is currently promoting his new single titled Club Life which was produced by Mexico-based Jamaican musician\/producer Patrick Jaffo Lowe.<\/p>\n
\u201cJaffo and I go way back to the days when he used to work on the Negril live music scene. He\u2019s a great musician and close friend. So, we connected while we were in Mexico and worked on a few tracks and this is the first one that we\u2019ve released. Since we began the promotion, I have been receiving a lot of positive feedback about it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Now that he\u2019s home for the holidays the hard-working entertainer has also turned his focus on recording his debut EP and putting together a band to accompany him when he hits the road next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
