He remembers the singer referring to him as \u2018Karate Kid\u2019.\u00a0 The two share the mic on <strong><em>\u2018Starz\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, Jahbar I\u2019s latest song which he co-produced with his father, Melbourne \u201cDusty\u201d Miller, for their Guerilla Lion Records.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Starz\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is driven by the rocking beat of <strong><em>\u2018My Guiding Star\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, a hit for The Heptones at Studio One in 1969.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to share the \u2018firephone\u2019 with Tarrus,\u00a0I\u00a0been listening to his music for years. One of my favorite songs of his is <strong><em>\u2018Larger Than Life\u2019<\/em><\/strong>\u2026dat song really bring mi through a lot of things,\u201d said Jahbar I.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Riley has checked on his progress over the years, even inviting him to perform on his Christmas show, Tarrus Riley and Friends, six years ago.\u00a0 The uptempo <strong><em>\u2018Starz\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is a statement of empowerment aimed at young people who may have given up on a life of substance. According to Jahbar I, its message is, \u201cEvery youth is a star.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His father plays drums on the song, accompanied by Mitchum \u201cKhan\u201d Chin on bass, piano and guitar, keyboardist Robbie Lyn, saxophonist Dean Fraser and trumpeter Okeil McIntyre.<\/p>\n<p>Miller, Chin and Fraser were members of The Firehouse Crew during that band\u2019s 1990s heyday.
