When you have been in the music business as long as Kashief Lindo, one learns that patience is indeed a virtue. \u2018<\/span>You Alone\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b>, a song the singer recorded 20 years ago with Honorebel, was finally released in early August.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018You Alone\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b> is produced by Willie Lindo, Kashief\u2019s father, for their Heavy Beat Records.\u00a0 \u201cHonorebel and I are good friends and those days we hung out a lot in the studio. That\u2019s how the song came about\u2026just holding a vibe and magic happened,\u201d Kashief explained.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since making his recording debut in the late 1990s, he has made a name with lovers\u2019 rock jams like <\/span>\u2018No Can Do\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b> and <\/span>\u2018The First Cut\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b>. <\/span>\u2018You Alone\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b> has an electro dancehall feel which suggests Kashief is looking to break into that market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not so, says the Kingston-born artist.\u00a0 \u201cThat\u2019s not something I\u2019ve ever been into, I don\u2019t watch the market like that. I make songs based on the energy I get from the riddim,\u201d he said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kashief Lindo knows a thing or two about making hit songs. In addition to making the charts as an artist, he learned the production ropes from his father, a prolific session guitarist who played on hits like Ken Boothe\u2019s <\/span>\u2018Everything I Own\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The senior Lindo, who has produced hit singles by Beres Hammond, Boris Gardiner, Tinga Stewart and Jimmy Riley, has acted in a similar role for his son\u2019s songs and albums including <\/span>\u2018Love On\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b>, which was released in late 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
