A version by The Heptones for Studio One, one year later made reggae charts around the world.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Hezron and Big Youth have covered \u2018I Shall be Released\u2019 for \u2018Celebrating Jamaica 61\u2019, a compilation album marking Jamaica\u2019s independence on August 6.\u202f<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">The 20-song set is distributed by Tad\u2019s International Record, whose principal Tad Dawkins Senior suggested Hezron put a fresh take on the popular song.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cI became familiar with Bob Dylan as I was searching for the lyrics of the song while typing in The Heptones and was surprised to find out that Bob Dylan was the original singer,\u201d said Hezron.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">He added that he took a more soulful approach to his version with Big Youth complementing that feel with his distinctive toasting.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dylan first recorded <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2018I Shall be Released\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> in 1967.
