Junior Holt is the son of reggae legend John Holt while Bamm is his son. The Connecticut-based Holt is looking forward to his debut on the January 20-21 gig which takes place at Plantation Cove in St. Ann parish, northeastern Jamaica.\u00a0 They appear on closing night.<\/p>\n

In recent years, he and Bamm have recorded fresh versions of Holt senior\u2019s songs to introduce him to a new generation. They include \u2018Police in Helicopter\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and \u2018Tribal War\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 In 2023, they plan on making a name on their own terms.\u00a0 \u201cA show like Rebel Salute can mek people know is not only John Holt song wi can do. Wi soun\u2019 jus\u2019 as good singing originals,\u201d Holt stated.<\/p>\n One of reggae\u2019s premier singers, John Holt died in 2014 at age 67. He left a massive catalog of songs from his days as a member of The Paragons with whom he did \u2018Wear You to The Ball\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, \u2018On the Beach\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and \u2018Only A Smile\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 As a solo act, he had even more hits such as \u2018Stick by Me\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, \u2018Stranger in Love\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and \u2018Help me Make it Through the Night\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n First held in 1994, Rebel Salute is organized by Tony Rebel.
