Right now, I&#8217;m pushing the envelope knowing and realizing there is no box, no limit,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo, <strong><em>\u2018Golden Spoon Maroon\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is a game-changer, a genre-defying and redefining album.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Golden Spoon Maroon\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>has collaborations with Ini Kamoze on <strong><em>\u2018What a Sinting\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and Beres Hammond <strong><em>(\u2018Mama Africa, we Love You\u2019)<\/em><\/strong>. Yasus\u2019 daughter Mik accompanies him on <strong><em>\u2018Plain and Simple\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018No Violation Dub\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This is the veteran poet\u2019s first album in 10 years. His previous, <strong><em>\u2018Ancient Future\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, had duets with acts like British poet Benjamin Zephaniah, Toots and The Maytals and Black Uhuru.<\/p>\n<p>Yasus &#8212; who led a roots-revival in dancehall music during the 1990s &#8212; believes it makes creative sense for poets to collaborate with mainstream acts like Ini Kamoze and Hammond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth Beres Hammond and Ini Kamoze are iconic legends, lyrical and musical maestros. They&#8217;re among the very best in what they do, they&#8217;re kings in their own rights. I&#8217;m a pioneer, innovator, and poetic alchemist so I&#8217;m a dub king in my own right.
