{"id":4848,"date":"2022-11-18T18:41:55","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T18:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandbox.reggaenorthca.com\/?p=4848"},"modified":"2022-11-18T18:41:55","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T18:41:55","slug":"b-b-seaton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandbox.reggaenorthca.com\/?p=4848","title":{"rendered":"B.B Seaton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Harris Lloyd &#8220;B.B.&#8221; Seaton<\/b>\u00a0(born 3 September 1944), also known as\u00a0<b>&#8220;Bibby&#8221;<\/b>, is a Jamaican\u00a0<a title=\"Reggae\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reggae\">reggae<\/a>\u00a0singer, songwriter, and record producer who was a member of\u00a0<a title=\"The Gaylads\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Gaylads\">The Gaylads<\/a>, The Astronauts, Conscious Minds, and The Messengers (along with\u00a0<a title=\"Ken Boothe\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ken_Boothe\">Ken Boothe<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Lloyd Charmers\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lloyd_Charmers\">Lloyd Charmers<\/a>\u00a0and Busty Brown), and who has had a long solo career dating back to 1960.<\/p>\n<p>Born in\u00a0<a title=\"Kingston, Jamaica\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kingston,_Jamaica\">Kingston, Jamaica<\/a>, Seaton first recorded as a solo artist in 1960 before forming the duo Winston &amp; Bibby with\u00a0<a title=\"Delano Stewart\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Delano_Stewart\">Winston Delano Stewart<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Greene_1-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-Larkin_2-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-Thompson_3-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0The duo were joined by Maurice Roberts and became The Gaylads, although Seaton soon left to join The Astronauts.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Greene_1-1\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0Seaton rejoined The Gaylads towards the end of the ska era, and they became hugely successful in Jamaica, and their success continued when they were reduced to a duo after Stewart departed.
