{"id":4546,"date":"2022-09-30T09:31:19","date_gmt":"2022-09-30T09:31:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandbox.reggaenorthca.com\/?p=4546"},"modified":"2022-09-30T09:31:19","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T09:31:19","slug":"errol-dunkley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandbox.reggaenorthca.com\/?p=4546","title":{"rendered":"Errol Dunkley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dunkley&#8217;s recording career began in 1965, when he was 14, with &#8220;Gypsy&#8221; (a duet with\u00a0<a title=\"Roy Shirley\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roy_Shirley\">Roy Shirley<\/a>) for Linden Pottinger&#8217;s Gaydisc label, &#8220;My Queen&#8221; (with\u00a0Junior English) for\u00a0<a title=\"Prince Buster\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prince_Buster\">Prince Buster<\/a>, and &#8220;Love Me Forever&#8221; on the Rio label.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0From 1967 to 1968, he recorded several singles for\u00a0Joe Gibbs, including &#8220;Please Stop Your Lying&#8221; (1967) and &#8220;Love Brother&#8221; (1968), before switching to\u00a0<a title=\"Coxsone Dodd\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Coxsone_Dodd\">Coxsone Dodd<\/a>\u00a0in 1969.<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>In the early 1970s, with\u00a0<a title=\"Gregory Isaacs\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gregory_Isaacs\">Gregory Isaacs<\/a>, he formed the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"African Museum\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/African_Museum\">African Museum<\/a>\u00a0record label. Isaacs soon took sole control of the label, and Dunkley formed Silver Ring, a new label. In 1972, he teamed up with producer Jimmy Radway for two of his most popular singles, &#8220;Keep the Pressure Down&#8221; and &#8220;Black Cinderella&#8221;.
