One of the premier broadcasters in South Florida\u2019s Caribbean community, Denver \u201cJAMUSA\u201d Silvera marks a major milestone there on September 4.\u00a0 The veteran sound system selector celebrates his \u2018Diamond Jubilee\u2019 in the music business with \u2018JAMUSA\u2019s 60th Year of Music Celebration\u2019 at Gold Choice Ballroom in the city of Margate.<\/p>\n
He will be joined by several of his colleagues including singers Barry Biggs, Wayne Armond, Hal Anthony, as well as Waggy T, another veteran of the South Florida Caribbean radio\/sound system circuit.<\/p>\n
JAMUSA currently hosts Making Tracks with JAMUSA<\/strong> on WAVS 1170 AM, South Florida\u2019s best-known Caribbean radio station. The program airs three days a week, from 4 to 6 pm.\u00a0 He started his career as a selector in the 1960s with sound systems in Kingston, Jamaica\u2019s capital. JAMUSA\u2019s first major gig was with Jack Ruby Hi Fi, a sound system owned by music producer Lawrence \u201cJack Ruby\u201d Lindo.<\/p>\n In the early 1970s, he moved to New York and worked as a Disc Jockey with WWRL radio station and with sound systems such as Imperial Faith.
