He was among the millions who loved the song.<\/p>\n<p>Early this year, the lovers rock singer put a reggae flavor to the track which still enjoys strong radio rotation. His version, which he co-produced with Global Merchant Music Group, was released July 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t consider what I did in regard to <strong><em>\u2018Everytime it Rains\u2019<\/em><\/strong> as a cover, I just did my own interpretation of it. Doing it wasn\u2019t really my idea, it was a suggestion made to me by one of my co-producers and when they suggested it, I wasn\u2019t really on board until I heard the track that was being made for it,\u201d Da\u2019Ville explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce I heard it, I realized that it gave me the room I\u2019d need to be creative and add my own flavor, hence the decision to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Everytime it Rains\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is the follow-up to <strong><em>\u2018Happy\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, another ballad. Both are expected to be on Da\u2019Ville\u2019s seventh album, scheduled for release this year.<\/p>\n<p>His approach made the song an interpretation rather than a cover.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the major difference is the fact that it\u2019s reggae. Also, I added a singjay chant style along with the bridge, and instead of me saying the line, \u2018I get wet\u2019 like they do in the original song, in my version I said \u2018I get weak\u2019 instead.
