He began his career as an\u00a0engineer\u00a0in the late eighties. After getting into producing at the &#8220;Penthouse&#8221; label of\u00a0<a title=\"Donovan Germain\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Donovan_Germain\">Donovan Germain<\/a>, he started his own label &#8220;Madhouse&#8221; together with business partner Janet Davidson in 1991. He went on to become one of the most successful\u00a0<a title=\"Dancehall\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dancehall\">dancehall<\/a>-producers in Jamaica, recording numerous songs that topped the local and international\u00a0reggae-charts, such as &#8220;Action&#8221; by\u00a0<a title=\"Nadine Sutherland\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nadine_Sutherland\">Nadine Sutherland<\/a>\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a title=\"Terror Fabulous\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Terror_Fabulous\">Terror Fabulous<\/a>\u00a0in 1994 or &#8220;Look&#8221; by\u00a0<a title=\"Bounty Killer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bounty_Killer\">Bounty Killer<\/a>\u00a0in 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Kelly has released some of the most popular and influential dancehall\u00a0<a title=\"Riddim\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Riddim\">riddims<\/a>\u00a0such as &#8220;Joyride,&#8221; &#8220;Showtime,&#8221; &#8220;Fiesta&#8221;, and &#8220;85&#8221;. He produced\u00a0<a title=\"Beenie Man\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Beenie_Man\">Beenie Man<\/a>&#8216;s international hit &#8220;Dude&#8221; featuring\u00a0<a title=\"Ms. Thing (singer)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ms._Thing_(singer)\">Ms. Thing<\/a>\u00a0in 2003 on the &#8220;Fiesta&#8221; riddim, which was featured on Beenie Man&#8217;s album\u00a0<i>Back to Basics<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Cham (singer)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cham_(singer)\">Baby Cham<\/a>&#8216;s major hit &#8220;Ghetto Story,&#8221; on the &#8220;85&#8221; riddim, which was the title track of\u00a0<a title=\"Cham (singer)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cham_(singer)\">Baby Cham<\/a>&#8216;s 2006 album that he also produced.
