{"id":3290,"date":"2022-04-22T08:08:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-22T08:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandbox.reggaenorthca.com\/?p=3290"},"modified":"2022-05-07T22:13:10","modified_gmt":"2022-05-07T22:13:10","slug":"empress-divine-and-blk-orchid-single-girl-blues-coming-this-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandbox.reggaenorthca.com\/?p=3290","title":{"rendered":"Empress Divine and BLK Orchid \u2018Single Girl Blues\u2019 Coming this Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dancehall artist Empress Divine and BLK Orchid have completed their new collaboration, <strong><em>\u2018Single Girl Blues\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and is ready to drop it this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Both artists are pumped about their collaborative effort and hyped about the buzz circulating the yet to be released single.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so excited, after working on this song throughout the pandemic, we\u2019re finally finished this amazing song\u201d, said Empress Divine. \u201cThis was truly a collaborative effort with us writing and co-producing this record\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>BLK Orchid describes making the record as amazing with pure energy.\u00a0 \u201cEmpress and I have been friends before we started working together, so it was natural when we came together to create\u201d, BLK Orchid said. \u00a0\u201cI&#8217;m proud that two women created this amazing body of work from start to finish\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The ladies started talking about recording this track from 2019, but it took a bit of time to link up and start the recording process, which they finally did in March 2020. \u201cWe worked on this record during the whole two years of the pandemic, until recently when we finally finished recording the record\u201d, said BLK Orchid.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Single Girl Blues\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>is written and produced by both artists. BLK Orchid originally had the song on an old riddim.\u00a0 She remade the riddim but felt something was missing.\u00a0 They eventually hired a band to record the track because the song needed the authentic reggae feel. \u201cWe both wrote the song, and I did the vocal arrangements. I&#8217;m proud that two women created this amazing body of work from start to finish\u201d, said BLK Orchid.<\/p>\n<p>Empress Divine is working on new materials which will hit the streets in the latter part of 2022.\u00a0 BLK Orchid plans to drop a few more singles before her album releases and both artists are building their brands and connecting with more people.
