One of them is <b><i>\u2018Pamoja\u2019<\/i><\/b> by Etana. This is the second call for the singer\/songwriter who was first nominated in 2019 with <b><i>\u2018Reggae Forever\u2019<\/i><\/b>. It makes her the first female solo act to be nominated twice for Best Reggae Album.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; color: black;\">Pamoja was released in June. It contains 16 songs. \u201cI feel like hard work and quality music does get recognized by lovers and of music! It feels fantastic! The fact that both albums are independently produced feels even greater,\u201d declared Etana, who made the breakthrough in 2007 with the song <b><i>\u2018Wrong Address\u2019<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; color: black;\">She believes while women have made significant strides in the reggae industry, men still call the shots. \u201cWell, there are more females in reggae for sure. However, it still mostly male-dominated and some inequalities still exists. The men in reggae are much more supportive than they were before,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><b><i><span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; color: black;\">\u2018Live N Livin\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; color: black;\"> by Sean Paul, <b><i>\u2018Beauty in The Silence\u2019<\/i><\/b> by SOJA, \u2018<b><i>Royal\u2019<\/i><\/b> from Jesse Royal, <b><i>\u2018Ten\u2019<\/i><\/b> by Spice and <b><i>\u2018Positive Vibrations\u2019<\/i><\/b> by Gramps Morgan are the other nominees for Best Reggae Album. Sean Paul won the category in 2004 with <b><i>\u2018Dutty Rock\u2019<\/i><\/b>, while Gramps won as a member of Morgan Heritage with <b><i>\u2018Strictly Roots\u2019<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif; color: black;\">Etana credits listening to different sounds and maintaining a hands-on approach to production for staying fresh. \u201cI tap into different sounds and artists from around the world. I just keep moving! I keep recording, keep writing and moving with the times.
