A co-promotion by singers Junior Holt, son of John Holt, and his son Bamm, the gig attracted a strong turnout. Fans heard Junior and Bamm, Brian Holt (another of John\u2019s sons) and Brian\u2019s daughter Brianna performing on a bill that featured Freddie and Chino McGregor. \u201cWe are thinking of making it an annual show. As God give mi strength, to keep the legacy alive,\u201d said\u00a0Bamm. \u201cAnd yeah, we\u2019d a love keep it inna Jamaica.\u201d<\/p>\n
John Holt died in October 2014 at age 67. One of reggae\u2019s great hit-makers, he is one of the music\u2019s most influential vocalists; he made his name with rock steady trio, The Paragons, before going solo in the late 1960s. Living up to its name, \u2018A Tribute\u2019 heard his relatives performing many of his hit songs including \u2018Police in Helicopter\u2019, \u2018Stick by Me\u2019, \u2018Stealing, Stealing\u2019, \u2018If I were a Carpenter\u2019, \u2018Strange Things\u2019, \u2018Tribal War\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>and \u2018Wild Fire\u2019.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A highlight was Junior Holt and Chino performing \u2018Wildfire\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, a 1985 ballad originally done by John Holt and Dennis Brown. Freddie McGregor and Chino did separate sets.
