Co-produced by Chaka Demus and Clive Hunt, the track was laid 16 six years ago at McGregor\u2019s Big Ship Studio in Kingston.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChaka come to mi an\u2019 sey him have a wicked song him think me an\u2019 him mus\u2019 work on but after wi do it at di studio, mi never hear much \u2018bout it after dat. Then him call mi one day last year an\u2019 sey, \u2018hey, mi a sen\u2019 something fi yuh hear\u2019,\u201d McGregor related.<\/p>\n<p>Their version hears Chaka Demus throwing down the distinctive toast that has made him world-famous as a member of Chaka Demus and Pliers. McGregor delivers Diamond\u2019s lines in smooth fashion.<\/p>\n<p>The original version was released in the summer of 1970 and became a global hit. Like Queen\u2019s <strong><em>We Will Rock You<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>We Are The Champions<\/em><\/strong>, It is a staple at sports events in the US.<\/p>\n<p>The Chaka Demus\/Freddie McGregor version of <strong><em>Sweet Caroline<\/em><\/strong> is doing well in parts of Europe including Romania.
