Throughout his career, Jon FX has helped guide artists from different genres to success as a musician and producer. This year, he made the transition to performer on a contemporary gospel song.<\/p>\n
That song is Another Level Remix<\/em><\/strong> which he produced for Guyanese gospel singer, Renwick Duesbury. Jon FX is also featured on the single which entered Billboard Magazine\u2019s Gospel Digital Song Sales Chart last week.<\/p>\n The London-born Duesbury originally recorded Another Level<\/em><\/strong> with Jamaican gospel deejay Prodigal Son, last year. After meeting Jon FX at his (Jon FX\u2019s) mother\u2019s church in Brooklyn, New York they agreed to record a remix.<\/p>\n For South Florida-based Jon FX, who has worked with rapper XXXtentacion and dancehall singer Gyptian, the change of pace excited him. \u201cIt is a refreshing sense of security to know that the sounds can transcend into different audiences,\u2019 he said, adding that \u201cremixes over the years has taught me that to do a \u2018refix\u2019 is an opportunity to introduce the song to another audience, hopefully a larger one.\u201d<\/p>\n From Kingston, Jon FX developed his talent playing multiple instruments in his family\u2019s church band. As a teenager, he played recording sessions at the east Kingston recording studio of producer Everton \u201cCaveman\u201d Moore.<\/p>\n Migrating to New York, he worked on remixes for acts like Barrington Levy and Sister Carol. In Florida, Jon FX\u2019s career took off as a producer\/remixer with the platinum selling XXXtentacion and Gyptian whose 2010 hit song, Hold Yuh<\/em><\/strong>, he produced. Jon FX believes his production skills have improved considerably in the past five years. \u201cI must admit, I used to be a beat-maker\/ musician, \u2018work-for-hire\u00a0for 15 years.
