Recording artiste Jimbolee has started off the year strong with the release of the Jlee Records project ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0on January 23.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“People love it. They think it’s different. Everywhere I go people are telling me about it, that it’s good or that it’s a number one song and I should keep up the work,” he said.<\/p>\n

Jimbolee, given name Philip Wilmot, is a reggae artiste who operates by the mantra, ”I love music too much to ever stop singing, I was born to sing.” He began singing at age eight, and, like many Jamaican artistes, developed his passion for music while attending church every Sunday. He is a versatile artiste who also sings in Spanish.So far, the official music video for\u00a0\u2018It’s Gonna Be Me\u2019<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0has surpassed 112,000 views.<\/p>\n

Jimbolee explained that his music strictly endorses positivity. He added that he would have loved to team up with several late reggae legends.<\/p>\n

“Since I started doing music, I’ve always looked up to positive artistes. My influences — who I’d like to do a collab with — none of them are alive right now – Garnett Silk [and] Dennis Brown. From the artiste is positive and they’re pushing out positive words, I would do a collab with them, of course,” he said.<\/p>\n

“When it comes on to music, music is a ministry. So, I would just do a collab with somebody who has a good and clean influence on the youth of today,” he added, stating that he is open to working with emerging artistes, once they fit the criteria.<\/p>\n
