He hopes to improve that showing in 2026 with <strong><em>\u20182 Pretty\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, his latest song.<\/p>\n<p>It was released in late November, but the Detroit-based artist is putting his promotional muscle behind the dance track, which is produced by Vikwyn, a leading figure in Nigerian pop music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2025, the world got to know me a little better. I released <strong><em>\u2018Bad Mamma Jamma<\/em><\/strong>\u2019, <strong><em>\u2018Pressure Point\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and finally towards the end of the year, I released <strong><em>\u20182 Pretty\u2019<\/em><\/strong>. 2025 was like an introduction for most people, and in 2026 I want us to get close,\u201d said Deportee. \u201cI want the world to really feel like they know me, and my team and I have a plan to make that a reality this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Bad Mamma Jamma\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, a dancehall jam, is a collaboration with Jamaican deejay Ricky Ten. Deportee goes solo on the sensuous \u2018Pressure Point\u2019, which has a R&amp;B flavor.<\/p>\n<p>Born Martin Curran, Deportee grew up appreciating different cultures. His mother,\u00a0Sylvia Reed Curran, was a member of the United States Foreign Service who served in several countries including Canada, Mexico and Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Although he was raised in Detroit \u2014 famous in pop culture as for being the hometown of soul juggernaut Motown Records \u2014 Deportee was weaned on diverse sounds. Those included Jamaican reggae and dancehall which launched his recording career three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong><em>\u20182 Pretty\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, which he co-wrote with J. Rich, Roy Haynes and Ray the Producer, Deportee hopes to catch the attention of party fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis song is for girls.
