This is the day <strong><em>\u2018Love Up\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, her first song, is being released. The roots-reggae single is a collaboration with self-proclaimed chanter Derajah, who co-produced it with multi-instrumentalist Bruno Dupre from Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Love Up\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is one of the songs Kingston-born MG Liz has recorded over the past two years. She feels relieved to finally get off the mark.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m incredibly excited right now, I have butterflies in my stomach. This is such a significant moment for me and for the work I&#8217;ve been applying myself to. It feels like giving birth to a song, to a project,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>MG Liz disclosed that she has been active in recording studios since 2025, writing and recording songs. <strong><em>\u2018Love Up\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, which features Dupre on bass, guitar, horns and drums, hears her singing complemented by a rap-like toast from Derajah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;ve been working on this for quite a while, and now it&#8217;s finally time to share it with the world, to put it out there for people to hear and respond to what I&#8217;ve been creating,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>On most of the songs she has recorded to date, MG Liz was guided by Derajah, a seasoned artist who has a following in Europe and Brazil through songs like <strong><em>\u2018Who Yeah Yah\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018The Time is Now\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For MG Liz, <strong><em>\u2018Love Up\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is a sign of things to come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe process is ongoing. I&#8217;m in the studio every week, constantly working and creating.
