It is driven by the music of <strong><em>\u2018Me and You\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, a song recorded at Studio One in the late 1960s by Carlton and The Shoes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018A Chance on Love\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is produced by Donovan Germain for Penthouse Records, the Kingston-based company that helped launch the careers of Buju Banton and Wayne Wonder.<\/p>\n<p>Sibbles, who made his name as an artist and bass guitarist at Studio One, was keen to record a song on the revamped \u2018riddim\u2019 the first time he heard it. \u201cI was thinking that it sounded familiar, (so) I wrote the lyrics when I heard the riddim,\u201d said Sibbles.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u2018A Chance on Love\u2019<\/em><\/strong> reunites Sibbles with Penthouse Records. In the 1990s, he recorded several songs for the label including <strong><em>\u2018No Bad Feelings\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018It\u2019s Not Over Yet\u2019.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>Most of Sibbles\u2019 recent songs have been self-produced for his Bright Beam label.<\/p>\n<p>As lead singer and chief songwriter for The Heptones, Sibbles made some of the rock steady era\u2019s biggest hits including <strong><em>\u2018Sea of Love\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>\u2018Equal Rights\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>\u2018Sweet Talking\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018Pretty Looks Isn\u2019t All\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He also played bass on numerous timeless songs at Studio One such as <strong><em>\u2018Baby Why\u2019<\/em><\/strong> by The Cables, <strong><em>\u2018A Love I Can Feel\u2019<\/em><\/strong> by John Holt and <strong><em>\u2018Door Peep\u2019<\/em><\/strong> by Burning Spear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For \u2018A Chance on Love\u2019, his latest song, Leroy Sibbles \u2018returns\u2019 to the sound that brought him fame as a member of The Heptones.
