With her signature fusion of R&B and new-age dancehall, Indiyah delivers a message that\u2019s both deeply personal and universally relatable.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Inspired by the emotional rollercoaster of toxic relationships, \u2018So Simple\u2019<\/em><\/strong> reminds listeners that true love should never be complicated or draining. \u201cThe song states that love is supposed to be simple,\u201d Indiyah explains. \u201cReal love shouldn\u2019t be toxic and exhausting \u2014 it should feel safe and reassuring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Written and produced entirely by the artist herself, the single captures Indiyah\u2019s vulnerability and strength, as she transforms personal pain into an empowering anthem for women who\u2019ve experienced similar struggles.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Musically, \u201cSo Simple\u201d<\/em><\/strong> marks a new chapter for Indiyah. While her earlier releases leaned more toward Afro-inspired styles, this single blend R&B smoothness with a new-age dancehall groove. \u201cThis song is different from my previous releases,\u201d she shares. \u201cI wanted to experiment with sound while keeping my message clear and authentic. I used cleaner lyrics to really connect emotionally with my listeners.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the fresh sonic direction, Indiyah stays true to her Caribbean roots. \u201cI always keep my authentic Caribbean sound alive by using my accent and island slang,\u201d she says. \u201cEven when I mix genres, that part of me never changes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Unlike many of her peers, Indiyah worked completely solo on \u201cSo Simple<\/em>,\u201d<\/strong> handling both songwriting and production. The process, she says, was as much about self-expression as it was about self-reliance. \u201cEverything you hear on this track is me \u2014 my voice, my emotions, my experiences. It\u2019s one hundred percent authentic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her journey as a female artist hasn\u2019t been without challenges. \u201cSometimes, working with engineers can be frustrating,\u201d Indiyah admits. \u201cThey often assume women don\u2019t understand the technical side of music, and that can lead to less effort or respect. But I\u2019ve learned to push through and stand my ground creatively.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>With \u201cSo Simple\u201d<\/em><\/strong> paving the way, Indiyah plans to release several more singles over the next year, all part of her mission to grow her fanbase and strengthen her brand as an artist. \u201cI\u2019m working on better promotion, and I can definitely see myself performing more around the city,\u201d she says. \u201cMy goal is to have that breakthrough song that takes me to an international level.\u201d<\/p>\n

And if given the chance to collaborate on that dream track, her top choice is none other than Rvssian<\/strong>, one of Jamaica\u2019s most respected producers. \u201cHe\u2019s incredibly talented,\u201d Indiyah says. \u201cI know he could take my music to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n
