As a young reggae fan in Bogota, Colombia, Ras Mista Fyah remembers listening to acts like Black Uhuru and admiring the unique delivery of singer Mykal Rose. This year, he got the opportunity to link with his hero.<\/p>\n
The Miami-based artist appeared on seven dates of Rose\u2019s United States tour. San Diego, California, Matunuck Beach, Rhode Island and Reston, Virginia were some of the areas Ras Mista Fyah opened for the Grammy-winning Rose.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe link together and now we have new audiences and dem know my music!\u201d he exclaimed in his best Jamaican patois. \u201cHe is like my big brother; mi feel so much admiration for King Mykal Rose!\u201d<\/p>\n
They met through Frank Burt, a bass guitarist who played on \u2018Infinity\u2019, Ras Mista Fyah\u2019s album which was released in August. It is produced by Feda Roland of Argentina. The nine-song set bears the seal of his Captain Fyah Records label.<\/p>\n
\u2018Infinity\u2019 is among 73 albums and EPs in consideration for a Best Reggae Album Grammy nomination. The nominees will be announced by the Recording Academy on November 7.<\/p>\n
Ras Mista Fyah\u2019s fourth album, \u2018Infinity\u2019 contains songs like \u2018Meh Neva\u2019 and \u2018Give Me The Rizzla\u2019 which have earned him fans in roots-reggae-friendly areas like the US West Coast.<\/p>\n
The dreadlocked singer overcame the trauma of losing his left arm in 2015 to craft his most diverse work to date.
