The 11-song set has reggae interpretations of Foreigner\u2019s <strong><em>\u2018I Want to Know What Love Is\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>\u2018Forever Young\u2019<\/em><\/strong> by Alphaville.<\/p>\n<p>It comes five years after <strong><em>\u2018Time of Your Life\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, the Jamaican artist\u2019s first album. A lot has happened artistically for the Connecticut-based Timmy Love since then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have grown significantly since my last album. I am more mature and motivated about life and loving people for who they are and accepting them regardless of their beliefs, background, ethnicity, race, colour or creed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To help promote <strong><em>\u2018Love &amp; Unity\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, Timmy Love did four shows in Germany in May. Those gigs took place in Hannover, Dusseldorf, Paderborn and Dortmund and introduced him to an audience outside of Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, his main market.<\/p>\n<p>For many years, Timmy Love has performed and recorded five albums with the RefleXX Band. But in recent years, he has also done several solo singles including <strong><em>\u2018Love &amp; Unity\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, a collaboration with Luciano; a cover of Toto\u2019s <strong><em>\u2018Africa\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018Wake Up Everybody\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, his take on the Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes classic, which is done with Big Mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Timmy Love is from St. Mary parish in eastern Jamaica. Raised on gospel music, he revisits those roots on <strong><em>\u2018Overcomer\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>\u2018Goodness of God\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, which are also on <strong><em>\u2018Love &amp; Unity\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Love &amp; Unity\u2019, the second solo album from singer Timmy Love, was released in early July.
