Jamaican singer Lila Ik\u00e9 has officially announced her debut album,\u00a0\u2018Treasure Self Love,\u2019<\/em><\/strong> set for release on August 22, 2025, through Wurl Ike Records, In.Digg.Nation Collective, and licensed to Ineffable Records. The announcement comes alongside the release of her new single and video,\u00a0\u2018Romantic<\/em>,\u2019<\/strong> featuring dancehall star Masicka.<\/p>\n

The sultry track reimagines Patra\u2019s 1994 hit\u00a0\u2018<\/strong>Romantic Call<\/em><\/strong><\/a>,\u2019<\/strong> which originally featured rapper Yo-Yo and which peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lila\u2019s version brings a modern twist, with Patra herself featured in the intro and outro, and production handled by British Ghanaian producer Juls and Jamaica\u2019s Dunw3ll.<\/p>\n

\u201cDirected by\u00a0Shane Creative, the video drips in 90s nostalgia, with Lila and her leading ladies rocking shimmery, throwback dancehall queen fashion,\u201d a release added.<\/p>\n

Lila Ik\u00e9 described the song as a tribute to the women who paved the way in dancehall. \u201c\u2018Romantic<\/em>\u2019 is my way of paying homage to dancehall and of course the queens who made space for us \u2014 women like Patra, who taught us how to be bold, sensual, and unapologetic. I wanted to tap into that energy, which is very me anyways,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

She also credited Masicka\u2019s feature with adding \u201cfire and balance,\u201d and called Patra\u2019s involvement a \u201cfull circle moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Treasure Self Love\u2019<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will include 11 tracks and a diverse lineup of collaborations, including HER, Joey Bada$$, Protoje, and Maverick Sabre. The album follows Lila\u2019s 2020 breakout EP\u00a0\u2018The ExPerience<\/em>,\u2019<\/strong> and includes previously released singles such as \u2018He Loves Us Both,\u2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2018Fry Plantain,\u2019<\/em><\/strong> and \u2018Too Late to Lie.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
