At the 2025 Reggae North Music Awards, she has been nominated not once, but twice \u2014 a major feat for an artist who only recently ventured into this genre.<\/p>\n
The nominations \u2014 Top Dancehall Single of the Year<\/em> and Female Artist of the Year<\/em> \u2014 are both tied to her 2023 single \u201cNuh Badda Me,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> a track that marked a bold new chapter in her music career. “I\u2019m ecstatic! It feels unreal to know that the song I\u2019m being nominated for was a song that took me out of my comfort zone,” she shared.<\/p>\n Before \u201cNuh Badda Me,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Tesharah was primarily seen as a soulful singer with gospel, R&B, and reggae influences. She wasn\u2019t known for DJ-ing \u2014 the rhythmic, lyrical style that dominates dancehall. But a fateful day in the studio with her producer and manager, DaJourney Productions, changed that. A riddim called B66<\/em><\/strong> caught her attention. \u201cA lot of DJs were doing their thing on it, and he asked me to write something,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI hesitated, but after some convincing, I gave it a try.\u201d<\/p>\n The result? A crowd-pleasing anthem that lit up every stage she graced. “Once I recorded ‘Nuh Badda Me,’<\/em><\/strong> it was a hit with the crowd. That\u2019s when I realized \u2014 I have something here,” she said.<\/p>\n Tesharah\u2019s journey from a church choir singer at age nine to a genre-blending artist is one of growth, courage, and creative exploration.
