It is produced by that label\u2019s founder, Michael \u201cMikey Shines\u201d Stewart.<\/p>\n<p>It is the company\u2019s first production for 2025, which Stewart expects to be a busy one, with songs by veteran artists Mikey Spice and Wayne Wade also on the cards.\u00a0 He said, <strong><em>\u2018Not Forbidden\u2019<\/em><\/strong> expresses \u2018humbleness\u2019 and \u201cif you apply yourself things will work out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song features bass guitarist Chris Meredith, who died in 2022. Meredith, who was a member of Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers and Stephen Marley\u2019s bands, also played on several Tell Dem Music productions.<\/p>\n<p>Stewart \u2014 a Jamaican who has been producing music for over 30 years \u2014 added saxophonist Dean Fraser to the track for extra flavor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat gave it a little tweak to bring it to where it is now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Empress Uneek was born in The Bahamas but raised in New York City and South Florida. She has lived in the latter for many years, recording songs for singer\/producers Hopeton Lindo and Ed Robinson.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Not Forbidden\u2019<\/em><\/strong> is also the artist\u2019s first song for the year.
