Fans in the United Kingdom have always been supportive of her career, so it was no surprise that Shenseea won the UK\u2019s MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Award for Best Caribbean Music Act on Tuesday, February 18.<\/p>\n
Shenseea won from a field of nominees which included Valiant, YG Marley, Popcaan, Skillibeng, and Spice. This is her second MOBO Award.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to win a MOBO Award! To know I have two now, I\u2019m blessed beyond measure and extremely grateful for the love and acknowledgement they show for my music,\u201d Shenseea said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe UK is now one of my strongest markets and one of my favourite markets; they\u2019re so supportive! I feel so much love it makes me want to move there sometimes, lol,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Last September her 2019 hit\u00a0\u2018Shenyeng Anthem\u2019<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>produced by Chimney Records, was certified silver in the UK by the British Phonographic Industry, for sales and streaming exceeding 200,000 units.<\/p>\n Last year she performed in London and Birmingham to sold-out venues. \u201cI performed in London and Birmingham last year, went extremely well, tickets were sold out. No complaints,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n In 2021 Shenseea won the MOBO Award for Best Reggae Act. The category has since been renamed Best Caribbean Music Act.\u00a0 Shenseea\u2019s sophomore album\u00a0\u2018Never Gets Late Here\u2019<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>was nominated in the Best Reggae Album of the 67th Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n Her latest single\u00a0\u2018Puni Police\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, produced by Di Genius, has been making strides on the YouTube Trending for Music chart. It entered the Urban chart in Germany at #40 on the weekend.<\/p>\n Shenseea is pleased with the reception the tracking has been getting. \u201cEveryone seems to love the topic. My favourite comment that I\u2019ve seen so far is someone saying that I seem to have a song for everything people go through.
