Reggae and dancehall artist King Shadrock is back in Seychelles, marking 25 years since his first visit and celebrating a musical journey that has made him a beloved figure among the Seychellois people.<\/p>\n
His story with Seychelles began when he recorded his first album with Allen Camile, an artist known for his Bob Marley-esque vocals. Together, they created hits like Zion<\/em><\/strong>, Deeper<\/em><\/strong>, and Seychelles Mon R\u00eave<\/em>,<\/strong> songs that continue to resonate across the island nation.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels great to be in my second home for my people, they are always happy to see me,\u201d King Shadrock shared. His deep, gritty sound, reminiscent of reggae legend Buju Banton, has made his music widely appreciated, particularly in Africa, where reggae holds a special place in many hearts.<\/p>\n But Seychelles is just one stop on his musical odyssey. After his performances here, King Shadrock is heading to Mexico for a series of shows on March 15, 22, 28, and 30. Mexico has become another key destination for the artist, where he has blended his roots reggae and dancehall with reggaeton, dubstep, and jungle music.<\/p>\n \u201cThe first time I went to Mexico, I went with electronic music,\u201d he explained. \u201cEven though I am a dancehall\/roots artist, I fused my music with other genres. Jamaica has a big influence there, and I dabble in Latin music as well.\u201d<\/p>\n King Shadrock\u2019s career has seen its share of highs and lows, but he embraces every challenge as part of the journey. Over the years, he has performed alongside reggae giants like Morgan Heritage and Shaka Demus & Pliers, even thrilling stadiums full of fans in South Africa with his band, Fullvibes.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have to love what you do,\u201d he said passionately. \u201cI\u2019m a fan of reggae and dancehall, and listening to it makes me realize how lucky I am to do this thing called music.\u201d<\/p>\n His message to the youth? \u201cNothing great in life comes easy.
