It\u2019s a timeless ballad about love, regret, and vulnerability, themes that connect across generations,\u201d said Joanna Marie. \u201cI wanted to honor that emotion while adding my own perspective and style to it. The decision to create two versions came naturally because I wanted to explore different moods and interpretations of the song\u2014one that stays close to its original heartfelt ballad form and another that brings a fresh reggae-inspired twist, reflecting my roots and artistic identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She first covered <strong><em>\u2018Again\u2019<\/em><\/strong> in 1994 for Kariang Records, a company based in Ocho Rios. Back then, Joanna Marie also did two versions of the song; one of them was a Spanish cut called <strong><em>\u2018Otra-Ves\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Joanna Marie has been recording songs for over 30 years as a vocalist, harmony singer and musician. She was encouraged to have another go at <strong><em>\u2018Again\u2019<\/em><\/strong> by Robinson, best known for his cover of <strong><em>\u2018Knocking on Heaven\u2019s Door\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It was important for her to do the original justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely! Janet Jackson is an icon and an inspiration. Her ability to blend vulnerability, strength, and artistry is something I admire deeply.
