Mojo Morgan, a member of the Grammy-winning reggae group Morgan Heritage, has teamed up with dancehall heavyweights Chronic Law, Popcaan, and Pablo YG for a new track that promises to fuse the traditional sounds of reggae with the edgy vibes of modern dancehall.<\/p>\n
Mojo Morgan described the track\u00a0\u2018Make It\u2019<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0as a testament of resilience and the unbreakable human spirit.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s about taking nothing and turning it into something. Ultimately, it is a rags to riches story, and each artiste tells this story based on how they see the world through their eyes,\u201d he explained. He said that the track\u2019s chorus was recorded by the late Morgan Heritage lead singer Peetah Morgan.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you see the struggle, you\u2019ve been through to make it, you have a different value on life. When I wrote the song and sent it to Peetah to sing the chorus for me, little did I know that we only had a little bit of time left together in this realm. So, the song has now taken on a new meaning for me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mojo said that he has to \u2018make it\u2019 with this project, not just for himself or his beloved brother Peetah \u201cbut also the legacy we\u2019ve built as Morgan Heritage with Gramps, Una and Lukes\u201d.<\/p>\n The decision to add featured artistes came about following lengthy discussions he had with Popcaan and Chronic Law about working together and being impressed with a Pablo YG performance.<\/p>\n \u201cI received a track back at the beginning of 2023 from JA for Life, who is a member of the CTBC Music Group marketing team and came up with an idea to do an epic collaboration with this generation\u2019s leaders of dancehall music. So, since Popcaan, Chronic Law and myself have been speaking about working together for a while now, this song was the perfect opportunity to make it happen as native sons of St Thomas, Jamaica, where we reside,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mojo said that after seeing young Pablo YG\u2019s charismatic performance on Sting in December 2022, he reached out to his publicist Contractor to get in touch with him.<\/p>\n \u201cHe recorded his verse immediately before all other featured artistes. The lyrics of [Pablo YG\u2019s song]\u00a0\u2018Rich and Richer\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>connected with me as the youngest member in my group, and sometimes being the underdog of sorts.
