Jamaican diversity takes centerstage at the inaugural Jamaica Woodland Festival which takes place on April 26 at Pearly Beach, on the outskirts of Ocho Rios.<\/p>\n
David Anderson, one of the event\u2019s directors, said his team have meticulously crafted a show that appeals to patrons with eclectic tastes. They get to see top reggae and gospel artists perform, complemented by the country\u2019s world-famous cuisine and culture, in a woodland setting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe event will be depicting our motto, \u2018Out of Many, One People\u2019 through performances, food and that oneness we Jamaicans are good at. By choosing a diverse cast, organizers not only enrich the artistic and cultural scope of the festival, but also contribute to social cohesion and innovation,\u201d he disclosed.<\/p>\n
I Wayne, Turbulence, Warrior King, Jah Bouks, Bunny General and Guinea Pepper are some of the acts confirmed for the Jamaica Woodland Festival. Its gospel acts are expected to be announced soon.<\/p>\n
Anderson noted that while the day-long spectacle offers music, it is not another reggae show. It will be held shortly after Easter and is an opportunity for Jamaicans and visitors to gather in one of the Caribbean\u2019s leading tourist vacation spots.<\/p>\n
\u201cA diverse cast promotes cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. Audiences get exposed to different cultures, traditions, and experiences, fostering learning and unity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
